Hello, and welcome to my first NotW! People who followed the links in my signature and visited CFC would know what I am talking about. So what is NotW?
Just follow this link to find out!
If you are like me and is usually too lazy to go through any hyperlinks, here is a basic summary:
NotW, or Night of the Werewolves, is a mafia game usually set in the universe of Fall From Heaven, a popular mod for Civ 4. Interesting part comes from that fact that everybody has his/her own unique role and backstory. The names of the said roles are proudly displayed upon the first page. As everyone knows who each other are, roleplay becomes much more important. The rules on roleplaying will be detailed later on the rules section.
So wait, some of you may be wondering. So why not just kill all the roles with the name "Mafia goon" in it? That's because all the "Mafia goons" are disguised. beefy being...let's say...a technician...doesn't mean that he can't be a member of an evil cult with a horde after horde of acid spitting monstrosities to kick around. Your favourite space marine may actually be a werewolf under all that armor and your favourite Town Idiot may be Mask DeMasque the Masked Thief. This, of course, works both ways. Your favourite Town Idiot may, instead of being Mask DeMasque, be a Super Sleuth in disguise.
Oh, and a rule at the core of NotW. THE DEAD MAY NOT SPEAK. The dead may not post in the Game thread. The dead may not talk with the living via PM or IM. THE DEAD MAY NOT EVER DISCUSS STRATEGY WITH THE LIVING.
Simple "I HATE YOU ALL!" or "MWAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA" is okay though as long as it's funny and there's no substance behind those words.
Of course, knowing all the roles of the people and also knowing that the dead do not speak raises an interesting dilema for the mafia. Do you kill Secura on day 1 to prevent her from steamrolling over your team on day 6, or do you kill the random poor Joe Schmuck named Seon who's role name sounds suspisciously powerful.
That's enough basic summary. These rules will be covered in more detail in the "Rules" Section.
