You are able to reach the guard uniform pile. There's nothing in the pockets. The shirts are all on wire hangers, the pants are merely folded. All are in your possession.

Remove the wire hangers from the shirts, put the guard uniform on over my prisoner clothing.

Attempt to bend the wire hangers into a sort of straight wire for lock picking purposes, then bend an additional section doubled over itself to serve as a torque bar for said lock-picking mechanism.

    Diagram explaining:

Left piece is the rake, use it to lift the locking mechanisms, while using the doubled over part of the right piece to turn the lock's cylinder and thereby lift the locking mechanisms above the threshold. This should open the door, and even if there is no need for a torquing mechanism, it would come in handy in future encounters with these terrible creatures known as doors.

After some struggle, you realize that you cannot pick the lock this way; the locking mechanism is too heavy and it bends the wire hangers rather than work as intended. You do note however that the wire hangers can be bent and extended in this fashion rather easily...

Bend the wires and extend them to a suitable length by which you can reach the desk drawers and possibly pull them open.

You extend the wire hangers and create a hook.... this particular mechanism is not long enough to reach the desk drawers, but it otherwise allows you to reach things you were unable to reach before.

Knock on the south wall, then on the western wall. Hear the differences in the sound.

The southern wall sounds different from the western wall. The west wall is very solid concrete, but the south wall sounds flimsy and thin... different. You do note that it is outside of your cell bars, so you can't really bash it down.

Determine if your arms can fit through the cell bars,

    If so:

Attempt to bash the wall with your fists between the bars of the cell.

    If not:

Attempt to use the wire hanger to poke holes in the, likely, drywall to the south.

Your arms fit through the cell bars, but there isn't enough space to swing your arm hard enough to disturb the wall. You hit the wall with your fist, and hurt your hand on a sharp object.

You use the wire hanger to attempt to poke a hole in the wall, but it fails. You are able to reach the wall easily.

You examine the south wall, just outside your cell.

It appears to be a flimsy wall added after the initial construction. There appear to be nails on the other side of it, some long enough to just barely poke through to this side. That is what hurt your hand.

The nails are arranged in a horizontal row, about head high. There are approximately 10 bumps or exposed nails that you can tell have been nailed into the side of the wall you cannot see. You cannot pull them through to this side or work them out to the other side. The row of nails goes all the way to the east side of the wall.

You use the wire hanger, and attempt to do such by reaching around the wall. While you are unsuccessful, you do hear the sound of metallic jingling on the opposing side, on the nail closest to the east wall.

You successfully extract the key hanging out of sight from the hook on the south wall, using your wire hanger.

Note: Split has left for the evening. Will be back tomorrow.

Hmm... maybe catching Split on his vacation wasn't such a bright idea, random.gods....

Hopefully I'll be able to keep the game going, but if I don't hear from him after a while.... I may have to pass the baton.

Is the sustained injury grave enough to benefit from a bandaging? If so, you could fashion one out of a part of the spare uniform. Otherwise, locking yourself out will probably be the best idea. I can't imagine you'll need the uniforms later, and they're sort of unhandy to carry around, but you might want the hangers for another purpose later. Remember to check the drawers on the desk once you're out, and attempt to find a weapon before leaving the room. A baton would be good.

Split says he will be able to participate on the 17th, which is only a couple agonizing days from now. As much as I want to get the game moving, I will squirm patiently until then.

Can you answer the first of my questions in the above post?

I guessed so but better safe than sorry. It'd be neat to discard it without thought and drop of blood loss just when we get out of this damn room :p

NO seriously my phone broke and my laptop battery died and there was no stable internet anywhere else I went on vacation.

So I return with the wonderful order.

Open the ing cell with the key.

You successfully open the cell door. Outside of your 10 foot by 10 foot cell, you find yourself in the larger 20 by 20 room.

The room is rather bare, except for the guard's desk which you grabbed the uniform from. Because there's no need to carry a stack of uniforms, and you're wearing one, you leave the other uniforms in your cell.

There is a door located in the northeast corner of the room. This room is otherwise bare, and will be referred to for easy reference as "Cell A"
