Well I've tried this and it works. All I can sugegst is to check the things we can't tell form your post -

1) is your folder name EXACTLY the same as your .bdf file?
(HelmsDeep?)

2) do you have an "English.adf" and "Scottish.adf" file in the same folder - WITH THOSE EXACT NAMES?

3) have you tried with a different mapname eg:
MapName::"bannockburn" - just to ensure you have no map loading problems?

If you still have problems zip the WHOLE folder for this Historical Battle, upload to the Orgs beta test site and reply to this thread. I'll download it and take a look.
