River.
Peacefull morning on the forest. Earth and its plants still moist from the night. Birds are singing with their clear voices. The wind is gently rustling the leaves of different trees. In center of it all, peacefully, with insects dancing on the surface. Fish swimming on its fresh water. Water fumes flowing over it. Deep blue, at some places almost black, others ligth green. Is the river.
It is not a newcomer. It has seen everything there is to see and it will continue witnessing both the cycle of a year and the circle of life. Each autumn it carries leaves in all the colours downstream, gently on its lap. It has carried also empty shells of animals and men. It has run red on blood. It has roamed like wildfire tearing trees, stones and everything on its path with it. Grinding so hard that even stones and rock have given away on its path.
It has frozen deep. So deep that it might have appeared as it were solid frozen, but even then deep down under the ice in the dark it continued flowing. slow and tirelesly downstream. Icy cold, but still alive.
Some may have thought it had dried at one point.Dried, no changed its course yes, as the river doesnt die.It just changes its form.
The same river flows inside me. Inside each and everyone of us. the river of life. Nurturing us untill it is time to change its course. carrying us to the unknown ,gently like a autumn leaf. Does it die? No.It just flows somewhere else never stopping, never .
A nice and melodic text. Definately a good beginning for my day.
Thank you for the feedback. It was more or less just a flow of mind, without any further thought. It could suggest that after a while i am starting have urges to write again.
Writing off the top of your head and/or as you go along is the best way to do it. Inspiration is fleeting, if you take too much time to think than the essence of what you wish to write will be lost. I enjoyed reading it, it was very good. The photograph was not needed! ;)
It has roamed like wildfire tearing trees, stones and everything on its path with it. - Is passive It roams like wildfire tearing trees, stones and everything in its path with it. - Is active
Active voice pulls your reader in, it shows action. Also watch your use of conjunctions, you've used "on" a few times when "in" is the appropriate conjunction.
Very serene piece, thanks for posting Kage.

Very true. Inspiration is fickle beast and should be utilised when it occurs. That's why I always keep a notebook and pen handy. I'll often wake up at 4 in the morning with ideas and sentences, and I'll just scribble. Bukowski put it best:

This is a good idea, nice for a foundation of a larger piece. I have tried it and it works for me. However, I am better on a PC, a word processor program in my case. I will write out the whole idea in however long a time it takes me for the entire length of the idea (considering time restraints) then, reread it and change/add things as I go. Often in times, what I started with is quite different from what I ended with. I enjoy my time spent as such. I wrote one long epic once, never looked back as I went. I was quite pleased with it as it was. I would love to proof read it and make alterations, but alas, the 3.5 floppy ate it. It is gone forgood. I kept the floppy as a memento, perhaps technology will develop such that I can retreive it someday! Often in times, what I start with is short, and as I reread and add to it it grows in length and substance. Writing should be like visiting another world. Taking a stroll down a place that exists only in your mind, a place that can only be seen when you put it to paper.

It takes practice. In my case, a nice flow to a sentense doesn't necessarially need perfect grammar. Though I have never published anything, so, mabey that is why!
