I think you're right about the EDB. Although I suppose you could use Machimoi Hippeis and Arabic cavalry for Egyptian and the Arabic cities. ...And Elephants for Indian rulers.
Huh, maybe the team had already considered that and just hadn't implemented it for some reason.![]()
I think it might be a unit slot limit issue. Not really sure tbh especially since there are unused units in the game.

The main problem is IIRC that the team didn't find sources of what would be the appropriate units in that area as Client rulers, so they've left it blank, an i guess forgot about it later on. There's a new mod out there that solves this problem i think.
Check the unofficial submod thread.

This might be ahistorical per se, but would Ethiopian Cavalry for the Nubian/Ethiopian provinces, Sabaen Nobles renamed of course for the Arabian provinces, and Indian Elephants for the indian provinces work?

I'd use the medium arab cavalry for the North arabian provinces. The kind of soldiers featured in the bodyguard unit would be exclusive to the ancient yemenites. (Qataban, Saba, Southern Ma'in province and Hadramawt).
So the question is, how do you turn a regular unit into a general? ANd isnt the EDU of EB completely full as is often claimed?
edit: did a quick count in the EDB and there is at most 458 units.

There are indeed about 40 open slots
Ok i created a few generals which are recruitable, but can anyone point me to a tutorial to:
1) link a sprite to this new unit
2) adding a description to this unit
Thanks!

Thanks i found a tutorial and did taxilan agema for taxila, elephants for opiana patala axum meroe diospolis, and arab cavalry for arabia; works like a charm!
Dang, rejoiced too fast: my new generals are amongst rebel units when a city revolts to me, but not as generals, as "regular" units. How can i disable this?
