I need a little help to complete a new scenario

I have almost completed a new scenario campagn that introduce the war between the Italian marittime repubblics.
I have transformed Italian in Venice, the Swiss in Genoa and the Burgundy in Pisa. Right now I have the following problems:

1) Even if everything is set to show swiss and burgundy as Genoa and Pisa, the diplomatical messages still speak about burgundy and swiss(the swiss refuse the alliance, instead the of genoa refuse .... they accept the marriage proposal .... and so on). What should I do ?

2) The Swiss king and heirs appear on map with an armored pike units. What can I do to give them the royal knight units ?

3) The name of the kings and followes are still German for Genoa and French for Pisa. How could I change them in Italian names ?

I will appreciate a lot any help with those questions.

OK here goes for the namesopen your Medieval folder and go to your Loc. file like this Loc/Eng/(or other depending on the language for your particular game or country) and look for names file then look for the names you want to change but do not change anything in the [ ] brackets only the { } curly brackets,the [ brackets will point to what you rename in the{ curly brackets i.e [Genoa]to{pisa}shoul;d result in Genoa being renamed as Pisa As for the King's unit showing as SAP'S if you get a unit editing tool this is easy to change look on the org download section for Gnomeunitbuildproj_v2.0 ,you can edit units this way in a very easy format. I know from modding to play the Swiss myself some of the Swiss info is hardcoded, hope that helped let me know of your progress good luck

thank you for your advices. Truly I have alrady made most of the changes that you have told me. But I did it only working on my good sense. Instead you explan me the curly and [ brackets that make me very clear what I had to do. So I have solved all my problems on the messages. Now I propose alliance and marriage to the Pisans and I don 't receive any more answers from burgundy .
I have dowload Gnomeunitbuildproj_v2.0 and I am going to work on the units.
Do you have any more advice about the problem of the personal names ? My Pisans need badly Italian names

Hi Paisano , You can change the German and French surnames in the same Loc/Eng/Names file as you scroll down the file you will see the various names for the countries and the surnames for the people again go to the French and German surname in the [ ]Brackets i.e French Surname[Louis] change to {Pisan} and the same for the Germans this should do it let me know how it goes. I download Gnomeunitbuildproj_v2.0 but it doesn t seem work for my goals. I don t want to mod the units but simply I need to change the units attached to the swiss king. Right now he has a armored pikeman unit instead I need an upgradable regular royal knight unit.
Any other suggestion ?

crusader_prod11.txt has the an entry for
faction leaders.Add the name of the faction.
That's why SoS told you get gnome's editor
it's easier that way.


names.txt
changes.txt
events.txt
and maybe another file in Loc\eng
deal with all the names you want to change.
