Some time ago there was a significant tax-income drop in my Carthaginian campaign too (it fell down from 2769 to 2758 minai per turn). I didn't ask any questions, but i executed my governor and all of his family instead. Darnit! i've almost gone bankrupt because of him!

It may have something to do with your governor, check his traits

Also always build Law Bonus temples. It is a must especially for huge empires.
I have added academies law bonus that EB has not added.
Corruption and huge armies kills your tax income.

You probably moved another governor into this city?

Maybe you changed the tax rate? Maybe a plague happened? Maybe the game just genuinely hates you and wants to ruin your fun....
If tax went down then something affected it. If it is really bugging you then watch all the factors from turn to turn and try and figure it out. If not then don't worry, there isn't anything that you can do about it anyway if it is a bug.

but as it's something we can't change, what's the big deal about that? i really don't mean to be rude, but there's absolutly no point to do so much research for that...
