In-Game Battle CTD???

Just as the titles say! i thought CTD's only happen after battles? in my case i was defending a river crossing and the averni army of about 3k+ were all pined-down by my army blocking the entrance and Boom CTD! Can anyone tell me why thats happening? its the first time i experience a in-game battle CTD.

This has happened to me twice both times when I had been on EB for a good few hours and both of them involved over 5000 troops, one of them was also a bridge battle. Hopefully someone can give you some more usefull info...

Thanks for replying! its good to know someone else has experience this problem, but mine wasn't a bridge battle it was a river battle. I'm worried it might happen again in a different setting since i like Playing Massive battles involving 5k+. I actually did the battle twice to see if it was only a one time thing but nope it also crashed the second time So yes i'm hopping someone can help me :)

Well I have played alot of EB(Cant have too much of a good thing ;) ) and I have only seen two so I dont think its a major problem, Just out of interest where did your happen mine were in Africa and Spain....

Gaul! I was planning to destroy an Averni Full stack of around 3500 with my 1100 :D Would have succeeded if the game didnt crash. But i decided to withdraw from Gaul and met a another Averni Army of 2300 so i destroyed that one instead Lol. And yes it doesnt seem to be a problem in the long run i was just concerned since it was my Biggest battle yet since i came back to playing EB.

The only crashes I ever got from EB 1.2 are the crashes where I've been playing for 3+ straight hours and haven't given computer a break. You have to restart RTW every couple hours because of that stupid vanilla bug, depending on how strong your comp is.
