In-Game Battle CTD???

Go to C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\EB\preferences folder.
Open preferences.txt via any text editor.
CTRL+F
write "AUTOSAVE"
make it false.

I had 3 river battles in a row in 3rd CTD.
AS attacked me 3 times in 3rd CTD after battle always.
I disabled it. now row I have not gotten any row battles CTD because after each row battle at the end of the turn during AI turns . AUTOSAVE saves your game before each battle. if it is more than 2 you have a huge potential to get a CTD after victory or defeat screen.

ya i just didnt understand why Auto-save was an issue doesnt it just save before and after end turn sequences (like the auto-save saves a file right after you press end turn and after when the AI finishes their moves and a new turn is up). Didnt really think it had anything to do with battles beforei just manually save my battles.

Don't save right in front of battles, this is reported to cause trouble. Move anything and then attack.
