Default a question about a rumored tool

    Hi,

out of curiosity, but is there a way of reducing the space a model occupies on the computer, without sacrificing its quality? I figured if that can be used, it'd ease the pressure on a given computer.

and while we're on the matter: is there a tool out there that converts .cas models into some alternate format that RTW can also read? I read sth 2 years ago about a .ru or .rum thingy, but I have not found the article since.
I was once alive, but then a girl came and took out my ticker.

my 4 year old modding project--nearing completion: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=219506 (if you wanna help, join me).

tired of ridiculous trouble with walking animations? then you need my brand newmotion capture for the common man!

AFAIK RTW uses the .cas format and only the .cas format. Someone give input if there are alternates. And with regard to model compression, are you referring to how sprites replace models after a certain draw distance? Or do you mean merging nearby polygons to lower the load?
