    Default Life Expectancy of FM's

What is the Normal Life Expectancy of your Family Members Male and Female?
And Historically how long do the Ancients usually live?

i've read and watched from documentaries that for example in Rome it was usually 50 since with all the murder and what not :p

I've read something interesting once. It wan an Egyptian inscription, where 2 about 15 year-olds wanted to get married, so that the parents could witness it, since they were getting very old, nearing the age of 30 :D

True story. Our middle-school history teacher showed us this

Then again, look at the diadochoi. Most of them lived to the age of 80-90

Nobles had naturally a lot higher life expectancy than lesser classes, given the more healthy diet and less self-consuming labour. Of course medicine in those days didn't have the possibilities it has today, but on the other hand we have our fair share of civilization-made maladies.

He probably refers to the Diadochoi in narrower sense, i.e. the first generation, who indeed lived long lives. I myself died at the age of about 80, when leading my army into battle against the only two years younger Seleukos. Also, both Ptolemaios Soter and Antigonos Monophtalmos became older than 80, the latter dying in battle, too (I mention that to show they were no inept dodderers despite their age).

I'm not aware about the situation with the Epigonoi (the later generations), but since many of them, especially among the seleucids, suffered violent deaths, it is probably not that easy to define a rule.

I once read that Seleukos actually slew Lysimachos in hand to hand combat himself. Though highly unlikely, it does provide the entertaining image of two 80 year olds dueling.

Wait, didn't I post in this thread?
Erm, well. FM's have a small and increasing chance of dying each turn after they first hit 60, now this is each turn, and since EB uses 4 turns per year, they tend to die younger than in RTW. There is some age that it resets, and I've known people to keep saving and reloading to save the life of their 80 year old badass.

True, but between the diadochoi period and the egyptians (correct me if I'm wrong, i do believe anubis88 was talking about a much older period of egyptian history) 1500 years separate both dynasties... meaning that egyptians, at the time of the diadochoi were probably living themselves until 80 or more...
