    Default R.I.P. Leonard Skinner

Namesake to the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Leonard Skinner, passes at 77. My favorite band while growing up.
Years later, though, his son was listening to the band’s 1973 debut album, “Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd.” The younger Skinner recalled that his father was not impressed, asking him: “What the hell kind of noise are you listening to?”
*reminds me of my own Pop *. This one's for you Mr. Skinner.

RIP. While im not a huge fan of the band, I do appreciate all they have done for music and the landmark songs that they have written.

    Greartest American band.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

I never knew Lynyrd Skynyrd was named after somebody. That's hilarious.

I didn't realize I had shaken your emotional state to the core.

In college, my drinking group used to go see a band at one of the local bars all the time, one of the guys knew the singer. They did mainly covers of current rock/alt stuff, and we would always (after several pitchers) yell out "Freebird!" at some point. After a couple of years of this, to our surprise they actually played it. We boo'ed immediately, it ruined the running joke.
