R.I.P. Leonard Skinner
Namesake to the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band, Leonard Skinner, passes at 77. My favorite band while growing up.*reminds me of my own PopYears later, though, his son was listening to the band’s 1973 debut album, “Pronounced Leh-Nerd Skin-Nerd.” The younger Skinner recalled that his father was not impressed, asking him: “What the hell kind of noise are you listening to?”*. This one's for you Mr. Skinner.

RIP. While im not a huge fan of the band, I do appreciate all they have done for music and the landmark songs that they have written.

In college, my drinking group used to go see a band at one of the local bars all the time, one of the guys knew the singer. They did mainly covers of current rock/alt stuff, and we would always (after several pitchers) yell out "Freebird!" at some point. After a couple of years of this, to our surprise they actually played it. We boo'ed immediately, it ruined the running joke.Doesn't matter where you are, there's always one
