There has been this annoying spinning wheel advertisement at the bottom lately. It makes a series of clicking noises before slowing down and stopping, it will then restart after about 10 5 seconds.

I think the site adverts are region specific, and more or less depends on your browsing behaviour.....

It can depend on browsing behaviour, but it doesn't have to. When companies want to sell something they may still use non targeted advertising campaigns.
And yes, it's region specific.
