Funny thing is, Pergamon is absolutely rich enough (having mines, a port and roads) to sustain you for a while as a single-city starting point. Doesn't even take much expansion in Asia Minor to continue to be economically viable since there's loads of ports and mines in that western peninsular.

Not to mention that longlasting peace between you and the KH and Maks (assuming you transplated Epiros there) is possible because of the water between you and those to factions, which will make them far less likely (and able) to attack you on a whim, so trade with them might well serve to make Pergamon able to float itself with no satellite cities.
