I dont understand this. I was playing online with over 1000+ kills and less that 200 casualties and almost all my men received negative honor. Some up to -6. Why?
What is it that makes a complete stranger dive into an icy river to save a solid gold baby? Maybe we'll never know.

Maybe they felt ashamed for murdering all those ashis?

seriously though.. I have never had any of my units go into negative honor , how is that possible online? once in a while my unit goes up one honor , but down? hmm , sorry , got me there.

Also, remember that the overall unit's honor is just the average of the individual soldiers. If you have 20 guys at honor 6, and add them to 40 guys at honor 1, then the apparent honor is up around 3. If you then have a couple of the better men die, then the average drops, reflecting the new average. This is done to simulate adding veteran troops to a green unit to boost it's morale/ability.

This is not just an effect of mixing units. This also happens if you Hold Formation alot - the guys in front get tons of combat experience and the average goes up. They get killed, and the new guy in back is a green soldier, even though the unit has been through many battles!

Whoops. Looking more closely, you're talking about your honor for MP, huh? *Never mind....*

In multiplayer games, the units are homogeneous, so your honour 3 WM will _all_ be honor 3.

did they flee or did you rout them off near the end of that game? The worst you should get is -3 honour, never seen -6.

the negative numbers do NOT represent your honor. they represent how much honor that unit lost in the battle. if the unit was honor 2 to begin with the the highest the negative number can be in -2. if the unit was honor 5 then the result you see at the end of a battle can be as high as -5.

as to how CA calculates the loss of honor in a battle you'd have to ask them cause i have strong disagreements with their whole honor system. if i send a unit to go be bait or a sacrificial lamb, i consider that a pretty honorable thing for that unit to do, but it will almost always lose honor. go figure.

Well actually all the units were 5. And none of them fleed. Im still extremely confused but some things you said partialy cleared it up
