What would it feel like being on the front lines? (RTW Edition!)

This game being set in the times of the ancient civilizations,days filled with constant conflict between city states or provinces must have been crazy. Imagine yourself a soldier who trained in the arts of war since you were an adolescent and you were called to participate in a very decisive battle and surprise! due to your exemplary valour, you were assigned on the front lines(in a phalanx, better)! How would you feel when the hour of battle comes?

It depends on whether this is in RTW or in real life :P In RTW (especially the earlier versions) I'd start yelling something about 1337 PWNX0RZZ and n00BCAKES and walk streight through the battle line :D well as long as I wasn't some lame militia group...

If it was real life I would probably be a lot more excited then if I wasn't in a phalanx... :D Especially when fighting another phalanx because If I remember correctly there was a tiny percentage of deaths when phalanx's clashed, most battles wouldn't have huge amounts of casulties
