Win 7 and EB CTDs

Greetings,
I have been playing EB for years now and have recently upgraded my computer to Win 7 (and a new SSD for my OS and programs... yessss!). In those years I have experienced the same CTDs everyone else has. I haven't installed EB yet but I was wondering if there are other players that have transitioned from Vista to 7 and if anyone has experienced an increase or decrease in CTDs after switching to Win 7?

You may have to wait a very long time to load the installer, that is what comes sporadic from users. Otherwise you will receive all engine-related bugs and the performance-issue that comes from the optimization from the source-code to Win98/XP.

I used Alex for Eb on 7.
Now I am using BI, I found BI creating more CTD.
I have nearly have not played EB with RTW.exe which I found useless.
If you like BI options use BI if not use Alex.
All exes causes CTDs but Alex as the last exe released less problematic.
Run EB as admin and never install it on C/Program Files.
Update your graphic drivers.
Use directx sound system in sound setting instead of Miles system.
these may help but never play more than 3 battles and 3 hours.
abandon autosave save yourself regularly.
forget to install developing submods or intensive ones.
choice is yours.
I miss alex but our late project will use BI so I returned to using it.
and of course increase your ram more than 2 GB.

Thanks for the info and the advice! I've been playing off of BI but I think I'll order RTW Anthology so I can get Alexander (and have backup source install discs for RTW & BI).
