    Well you need to look at the fine print. Some cable companies have small print saying "burst" of up to 18mb/down. Meaning you will get that speed for maybe a few minutes. I prefer DSL just for its reliability despite that its hard to find one thats goes above 500mb/down. If its in your area i recommend looking into phios, or Uverse.
