im new at how to edit unit stats (i dont know how) and i want to make kerns available in every province.
I found out how to get to the units, but what do i run it from? (i found the part with all the names of the units and when i click on one it says "run from" and gives me a list), what do I do?

    Thanx in advance

Download the GnomesUnitEditor program from the downloads sections, this will enable you to edit the Crusader_Unit file. This is the file you need to edit unit stats. this is the only file you need to edit of all you want to do is change stats

sorry if it sounds stupid, but how do u get the editted stats to accually work
i did some minor changes (and named it Edit_1, how original)
but i cant get it to work in game.
i tried deleating the unit files (battle, UnitIcon) and putting the saved file in their place but that did nothing.
Can someone tell me how to make it work?
i would be eternally grateful (but no, i wont be your slave)
    Thanks

Ok number 1 you dont rename the file, it needs to have the same name.
2 save it to you Medievil - Totalwar file, not in the other files you said ( the same place you opened it from), 3, theres is no need to delete any files.

so you mean i edit the file themselves?
i went to the gnomes generater thing and did "load defaults"
it took up the whole list and i editted that then saved it
i assume thats wrong, so what am i accually supposed to do?

Yeh but you then have to copy that file from whereever you saved it into the main MTW directory.

are you sure its the main direstery
i tried that and it didn't work

ill say everything that i did so you can see exactly where i went wrong

i went onto the gnome generator and clicked load defaults
i change kerns to be able to be built everywhere and Varangian Guard to be avvailable in all ages
    i saved it as EDIT-1
i copied that file and added it to the main directery

please tell me what i did wrong so i can fix it

yeh what you did wrong was calling it EDIT-1, keep the same name as it is in the MTW directory, save your edited copy to a new location, then copy it and paste it into the MTW directory, and yes im sure that is the right place.

Open Gnome Editor. Click on "load file". Locate you MTW folder. Inside the MTW main folder, the is a file called "crudaders_unit_product11.txt". It is the file you want to load for editing.

After you've done with editing, click on "save file as". You want to save edited file over the existing one (overwrite the old one) by locating the same file (that you open for edit) in the MTW folder, click on it and its name will appear as the name of the file you want to save as. Click on "save". You will be asked if you want to overwrite the existing file and you should click on "Yes".

Load default is when you need to load the default stats. You will need to save it to make it effect the game.

If you want to make further changes to the already edited file and you don't want to lose anything in case you make a mistake, you should copy the current file (crusaders_unit_prod11.txt") to some where else so you now have 2 copies of it. Do the editing on one (the one in the main MTW folder) and keep the other one as back up.

Gnome Editor can also edit "crusaders_build_prod13.txt" which is for buildings and "projectileStats.txt" which is for missiles/arty projectiles. Both are in the same place as "crusaders_unit_prod11.txt". You will need one copy of each file in the main MTW folder for the game to work.
