This is for all males here who don't have kids at the moment. I made a similar poll at TWC and had a massive turnout, so I like to see what happens here.
Do you want kids? Is it one of your main goals in life or would you like to remain childless?

Not in the slightest.
I have not yet wanted kids so far and I don't see that changing any time soon. And I do not think I would be much good as a father either, babies might be “cute” (right up until they poke you in the eye) but the 4 year olds? They're truly exhausting.

Been there, done that, bought the t-shirt, sent some postcards and booked a return trip. It's not something you should do if you're not ready, for sure, but they payoff can be spectacular.
Yes, I do want kids. Even though I have a 4 year old little brother who is annoying as heck, I still want them.
Im looking at most three of the little buggers, dont think I could handle more than three.
But still, my parents handled five, now only four, soon to be only three (older bro went off to college four years ago, I will be following him this coming fall).
I still have no idea how they do it.

Definite no from me. It's possible I might change my mind in the future, but it would be a distant future. I love little kids, they are brilliant fun, but they get on my nerves after extended exposure and I wouldn't trust myself with a kid, I'm not responsible enough. Whenever I'm asked to look after my little sister or cousins I always get absorbed in a book or a game or something and forget to check on them for extended periods, then I have to search the house and yard before their parents get back

Right now? No. In ten years? Yes.

I would not under any circumstance raise a kid from birth. I might adopt a kid if the love of my life wanted it, but she probably wouldn't be able to sway me unless she was spectacularly skilled in the erotic arts - and if that were the case she wouldn't have settled for my dumb ass.
As Lemur said: Been there, done that.
Here she is. Little redhead Frieda, 2 years old now.
She was actually an accident, but now I wouldn't want to be without her.
Seriously, kids are wonderful and probably the most rewarding thing on this planet in the long run, but - especially during the first years of their lives - they'll put you to the test.
So, what I think it all boils down to is: are you man enough?

I do. Not now of course but after 6-7 years why not?

Humanity is entitled to a perpetuation of my glorious genes. Such is the responsibility that comes with perfection.
As soon as science has figured out how, I'm going to have children with Strike.
See, that's the problem. We all complain about the demise of our societies. A demise which is, in the end, only owing to the stubborn refusal of the talented classes to bear the responsibilty for some children for two decades.Originally Posted by PJ

I figured you cold-blooded Fins could use some advice there, yes.
Downing a glass of vodka together followed by rubbing of noses does not passionate lovemaking make.
Anyway, there are also movies or books out there that can help you.
What could help is if you, or your wife, thinks of it like a bottle of ketchup. Keep shaking that thing until it suddenly, uncontrollably erupts with juice. No wonder nothing comes out of it.
Bah! Derailed wisdom of Southerners! Traditionally there is just a hole in a frozen swamp behind any village where everyone goes to help themselves and atleast once or twice in a century something crawls out from it. Louis think again carefully, do you really want us to start breeding, think of the consequences with 100 million drunken Finns roaming around the Europe?

It's not exactly something I have on my mind right now.
At the end of the day politics is just trash compared to the Gospel.
Barring a Louis-Strike super child I am right now opposed to having kids.
It's not that I don't love a family My mum has 11 siblings my Dad has 7 and I have 6. There is nothing better in this world than a supporting and loving family. I honestly can't see myself raising a little guy.
I want to see the world, I want to get up and go, I don't like being tied down. I am spontanues and eccentric which aren't very good qualties for child rearing. Maybe a woman will tame but I highly doubt it.
Outside of my family and few grade school friends I keep emotions in check while I try to drink and screw my way into my 30s
Which actually stems from some nasty High school breakups but I digress
Does that make sense?

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
of course, without kids, don't blame if one day, the future generation with a genetic makeup similar with yours start grumbling about certain immigrants who breed like rabbit and taking their jobs and country...
don't avoid the responsibility, at least, when there is wars, there will be the need of manpowers, and you'll more or less contribute with it.

Nein. They get paid a lousy $35-$50 a specimen while the fishy banks sell your seed for many times over price wise.
