Need a movie Maker

I am using Vista, with only Service Pack 1, SP2 on my pc won’t accept. Microsoft tried to get it going but couldn’t.

The movie maker that comes with Vista won’t let me burn but I can create a file to burn.

I can’t use Windows Live because it requires SP2.

Any suggestions as to free software for making movies?

As far as free software goes, there isnt much in general. But as far as ones you need to buy, Sony Vegas pro is, IMO, the best. Though costly.

Costly, $600.00 US currency. I just want something to make home movies.

A simple Google search of "freeware video editors" might take you somewhere, Jack Dionne.

I realize that, however I have downloaded two now. One called Windows Live and the other called Nero.

Windows live requires the Service pack 2 for Vista which won’t install on my PC. Microsoft has not been able to help me with that and Nero forced me to get a bunch of programs I did not want or need not to mention it was overly complicated for me.

Is there a movie maker program as simple as Windows movie maker that doesn’t require service pack 2 out there? I would be willing to pay for a program as long as it can do home movie, that’s all.

Sorry but are you looking for a program only to burn a movie as a DVD ?

Then the essential keyword is "avi2dvd".

I came across with this freeware after a little look. I even installed and run it to see what's in the pack; it seems sufficient.

Somehow I tend to think that DVDStyler is a better option, go with what Xiahou-sama suggested, Jack Boionne.

Video editing made easy for beginners.
