Question Blooded-Veteran-Grizzled Trait and Carthaginian Reforms

    Hi just two quick questions,
    1) I have modded the Blooded-Veteran-Grizzled trait line to give 1 command , then 2 etc.But only my "main" commander in a battle can get traits and not the other FMs in the army. Is there a way around this?

    2) looked at the FAQ but am still confused. Do i have to build regional lvl 5 MIC (In which case i need lvl 4 governments then don't I?) or do i have to build the factional MICs?

    Thanks in advance

    1. No, only the general in command gets the trait.

    2. Are you talking about Carthaginian reforms? If so, regional.

    1) There was already a minimod for EB which did this for you.
I don't think so, only the leading general's traits and retinue apply. I am not sure wether the secondary general takes over command in the same battle where the main commander dies.

    2) Yes you need to build lvl 5 local, not factional. Which is of course logical because not all of the listed cities are homeland regions and thus can't contain lvl 5 factional barracks. And no you do not need the March of Time for anything, unless you want the east to have late bodyguards.

I hope that helps. Good luck with your campaign!

    wow thanks for quick replies,
just thought of something. what if i had the other general(s) tag along behind as reinforcements? seeing as how they get a gold star too (ie. there own army) that means they should get traits, specifically the blooded one (I love that one, best way of gaining command) ?

If the reinforcing general is A.I. controlled, he will count as a separate army and thus get his own traits. I don't think this applies to player-controlled reinforcements, though. In that case, the primary general is still in command. According to a developer, the game has no concept of a second-in-command.

I think Carthage can actually build lvl 5 mic's at their lvl 3 government though. In the Baleares I have a level 2 government and I have the option to build lvl 4 regional barracks. This typically would not be possible for other factions so I think Carthage's build tree is slightly different.

    Huh?
    _______________________Factional_______Regional

Isn't this the same for all factions (apart from Nomads)?

I'm pretty sure the Carthaginians can build lvl 5 MICs with a level 3 govt. It is to represent the greater emphasis on local troops and mercenaries they had.
