As Rory said, that is a tribal thing, nothing to get worked up about. Some tribes extend their necks, some cut patterns in their skin, and some do that to their teeth.

It's a sign of sexual maturity in central-Africa. Interestingly enough triangles are on everything from there, I collect African ceremonial weaponry and art, it's often currency in exchanges, weddings mostly. The amount of triangles is the price. That's what they think at least since my stuff is from extinct people. But teeth filing also happens in Asia, and I believe also in parts of your own Turkey.
