nah I think its part of the "general on the field"-aura which covers the whole battlefield not the "General closeby"-aura which is displayed in the units moral indicator. you know all units rout easier when the general dies, or there is only a captain arround.

Morale is +2 per exp but the +1 attack/defense is rather unbalancing.

...which doesn't particularly keep quite a few factions from pulling exp-level bonuses from the damnedest things; notably, game fields etc., diverse temples and damn gummint buildings. IIRC there are also quite a few instances where, for example, a govtype gives an exp level *and* morale penalties...

So yeah. Given that by all accounts the building morale mods are quite nonfunctional it seems somewhat unfair to quite a few factions that are supposed to get lots of them from assorted govtypes, temples and whatnots compared to the neighbour who up and pulls wholesale exp levels from the same, don't you think?

I and many others around the world are of the strong belief that the universe was created by a Flying Spaghetti Monster. --- Proof of the existence of the FSM, if needed, can be found in the recent uptick of global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters. Apparently His Pastaness is to be worshipped in full pirate regalia. The decline in worldwide pirate population over the past 200 years directly corresponds with the increase in global temperature. Here is a graph to illustrate the point."
