    Default Harddrive questions

    Hey guys, two things.

Currently I have two harddrives I'm using, one 500GB one for two partitions, my C: drive for the OS/programs and the E: drive for everything else. However, I have a second drive (150GB) that I had my previous XP install on (D:), but I need it to boot to the windows install on my C: drive. Windows partition thing says it's a System, Active, Primary partition while C: is Boot, Page File, Crash Dump, and Primary. I want to be able to ditch the small drive, and to do that I'd need to mark C: as Active. But what if it doesn't have the operating system loader on it? Would I be able to reverse the process?

Secondly, I think I'm going to get a 1TB (or larger) drive then make the 500GB drive a backup for a new E: drive. Does anyone have any recommendations on a reliable drive?

Why the Samsung Spinpoint F3? Performance wise the WD Caviar Blue is better isn't it? My current drive is Samsung, not sure the model. It's been pretty reliable, is the Samsung Spinpoint F3 more reliable than the WD Caviar Blue for example?
