Depends what role you need to play within the cultural norm. I find myself most successful if I play the short, hairy, funny guy. Whereas I couldn't play the large, muscular, surfer guy which my friend plays very (frustratingly) well. At the same time I couldn't play the intellectual or the sensitive guy.

1) if you have a girl that was your best friend... try to spend more time with her. Love grows from closeness.... if you don't have any, try to become friends with them, and love will comes naturally
2) do heavy bodybuilding until you got body like greek gods, chicks will come afterwards
3) go to church, and pray endlessly in two or three days, attend every worship and prayer events, and become a very pious and religious man, I can bet some girls will start to see something in you. (if you don't get some sucess, maybe your life had another purpose than chasing girls arround... )
4) directly speak to your parents and ask to get a marriage arrangements (if you are soo frustated by the prospect of not having any girl). But necer complain if they gave you the fat chubby one...

No, and I'm pretty neutral about my lack of success. For one, I haven't tried very hard, but then I'm not desperate either, so meh.

It's not that she see's you as a "friend", it's that she sees this: a guy with low self-esteem and no confidence who doesn't back himself enough to take a chance and isn't man enough to go out and "take what he wants". Guys who take that approach are desperate, and to quote a good friend of mine: "Desperation is the least attractive quality a man can have".

Confidence and backing yourself is what works. That and having realistic expectations, relationships are transactive. Don't expect to get a premium product if your offering is substandard.

That totally makes sense if the girl in question is single, but what if she already has a long-distance boyfriend she's had for a year or more? I'm guessing there's no point in thinking there's ever going to be a chance, but pretty much every girl at my college who I've met has a boyfriend back home (Apart from the girl who made one here during Fresher's).

anyways: no, that's obviously not what I'm talking about, and I do not appreciate the "joke". the fact of the matter is, I enjoy the time spent studying dinosaurs and other Earth history subjects, then trying to find that mythical "someone"-something I know cannot exist.
