Its more than that tho. More importantly, wind and rain will affect range and accuracy of archers and the footing of infantry and horse. Along with erosion effects this could really be huge. As long as we get a decent Line of Sight/Fog of War mechanic and the rest of the plan comes together, we will be playing a potential GOTY canidate, no questions about it.
Than again, I could be dreaming......
