    Default Foreign Languages

Eh, which foreign languages do you know or want to learn? Right now, being Dutch, my English is near-perfect, I can speak French pretty well, and can save myself in German and Japanese. I want to learn Arabic (and have started learning today with an old learning pack thing we had lying around), Persian, Mandarin Chinese (hopefully in University next year), and Korean.

I can only speak English and Japanese. I hope to round out the romance languages eventually and maybe even work towards asia if I have enough time to kill.

Dutch and English, my French isn't that good anymore. I can understand and read German, but when I talk German I just end up talking our local dutch dialect. But they understand that most of the time as well, lol. Perhaps some day I'll learn Japanese, Turkish and/or West-Vlaams.

Dutch, English, French. Understand German, but am not able to speak it. Know a few Russian and Italian un-Frontroomish words as well. Studied Latin in the past, but don't remember much of it, except for some legal expressions, to impress people ("nemo est censetur ignorare legem" or "dura lex sed lex" sounds way cooler than "ignorance of the law is no excuse" or "it's the law").

Dutch and English fluently, French enough to get by on a professional level and enough German to get by.

so far, have learn Arabic, English, Akkadian (sorta: verbs are my weak spot), some German (enough to read military manuscripts from the 18th century, and speak some (I've had complaints that I sound Saxon-ish)), and a bit of Latin.

hope to learn Chinese, Turkish, Mongolian, Japanese, Frisian, Hebrew, Aramaic, Coptic, Zulu, Timazighen languages, Na-dene (Navajo), and of course, southern American English , greek, and any other darn language I please.
of course, Immortality (or a real long life), helps, to allow for as many languages as possible.

Well your legalese Latin could do with sprucing up: “Nobody is deemed not to know the law” and “[it is] a harsh/though law, but [it is] the law”.

As for me, fluent in English and Dutch. I can read French and German well enough, it's the talking I'm not good at. Still, apparently my French is better than that of most Flemish as one Belgian man kindly informed me at a gas station near Liège. Right there, I thought finally understood Belgium.

Parlez nous a boire is a lovely song. I've been listening to "Rêve du Soulard" a lot recently.
