Christmas being a time for nostalgic things, I thought I might offer a referral to a little book that some of you might enjoy.

Little Wars by H. G. Wells

It starts off:

Little Wars; a game for boys from twelve years of age to one hundred and fifty and for that more intelligent sort of girl who likes boys' games and books.

The Kindle Edition is free, and you can get a Kindle reader (also free) for almost any device with a screen on it.

(Not sure if there has to be any prior book purchase to arrange an account.)

I hope some of you will enjoy this little bit of the history of "our sport".
