Well, the 'Christmas Truce' is not necessarily about Christmas. It is more that arch-enemies/rivals can celebrate together even in such dire times.

If you didn't know:
The Christmas truce was a series of widespread unofficial ceasefires that took place along the Western Front around Christmas of 1914, during the First World War. Through the week leading up to Christmas, parties of German and British soldiers began to exchange seasonal greetings and songs between their trenches; on occasion, the tension was reduced to the point that individuals would walk across to talk to their opposite numbers bearing gifts. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, many soldiers from both sides – as well as, to a lesser degree, from French units – independently ventured into no man's land, where they mingled, exchanging food and souvenirs. As well as joint burial ceremonies, several meetings ended in carol-singing, or – famously – games of football.

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.

On the current note, I actually have no problem against there being a Christmas truce on the forums. Infact given that it is a multicultural forum, instead of not celebrating occasions of one particular people, there should be some sort of provision to celebrate occasions of each and every culture represented here....provided of course the representative/s are willing.
Anyway, I don't want to sound cheesy, but people of all religions and cultures can actually understand the true meaning of Christmas. And I love the Christmas cakes they make in the local bakeries during this season.

Actually, it is time it ends.

Just one problem with that. LEN isn't a backroom mod. By it's very nature the BR is moderation intense. Or it used to be.

Definitely! Whenever there aren't any new posts I am interested in, I will always flick back through the pages of the backroom.
Whenever you see a lock, there is an almost guaranteed cracker to be read.
