[Windows 7] Anyone had any trouble with EB?

I'm forecasting ahead to my eventual new PC, which will probably have Windows 7 as the O/S given I'm intending at least 4Gb of RAM.

That means a 64-bit O/S and XP 64 doesn't really look up to the task. So has anyone got experience of running EB with a Windows 7 machine? Allegedly, all the UAC and other shenanigans of Vista have been fixed. Is this the case?

Win7 is just Vista with a nice skin and service pack 3....

Running EB1+2 fine on my 64bit OS. Installing it outside Program Files is a must. I don't use compatibility mode, as it is running smooth and without problems.
If you have problems running the installer (that is what some users are reporting) disable protection software and UAC during the installation progress.

I don't even have the theoretical machine that would run Win7 yet! Probably get it in the summer, if I get a bonus...

I always use a different drive (never mind folder) for games, with my O/S and regular applications in their own partition (for ease of periodic formatting).

I'll probably switch of UAC in any case, sounds really, really annoying.

Im running EB on Win 7 64 bit and have had zero problems!

I read all I could find on the win 7 64 bit problem before I installed, but there has been zero problems at all.

I installed all in (86) programs, including RTW.

No problems at all.

Also, I made a "vanilla" folder, of both RTW and RTR and EB. It fills a lot but I think its worth it, should a problem occur at some point.

Hmm, my question is now somewhat moot, I've been given a new machine which runs XP 64.
