Really? The rules says the following: Each turn Consul must be elected. To do it player must post Vote: Name.
4. Consuls powers:
1) Can once a day give +2 to his faction while reducing the power of another faction by -2.
I don't see how this can be misinterpret

I apologize. That is my screw up. I meant there "once a turn".
However, like I said it was my screw up then your vote will stand but I will change that part in the rules so that this power can be used once a turn.
I don't see it as a screw-up on your part Ibn; I knew exactly what it meant, but then it could just be a native English thing?
When I read the structure of the game, it seemed obvious that each turn was centered around a single day, thus I interpreted that the Consul abilities were usuable as such. :S

"Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than Hell itself… that is coffee."
Looking the tally, GE only removed/added 1 point. So, it doesn't matter.
Also, to make it clear. I am talking about GE's last post where he voted(made today 9:40 by my clock).
Anyway, the next turn will be opened soon. Had to do some housework.
The Senate is open for discussions!
Turn 3
Cloaked person approaches two Senators near the Forum. After some discussions the three men shake hands and the cloaked person left. -2 to Military faction
A rumor spread in Rome that Askthepizzaguy was involved with some foreigners from east. However, soon it was discovered that it was Romanic who had started this rumor.
Our beloved Consul, God Emperor, held a triumph after the army had destroyed a barbarian horde in north. The fact that he was not even close to the battle is not important. Many of the senators from the Mercantile faction were so inspired that they decided to join Religious faction. -2 to Mercantile faction; +2 to Religious faction
The tally:

Religious: 24

Secura is this years Consul!
Players:
ATPG - Mercantile
slashandburn - Mercantile
Double A - Military
Secura - Military
Diamondeye - Populist
Romanic - Populist
God Emperor - Religious
robbiecon - Civic
Yoyoma1910 - Civic
And so the senate recommences. And Religion has surely taken a hold of the Senate for the moment. But do we really want a God Emperor for the empire?

Commander Secura
of the Military Faction
Consul of the Senate
Lords of the Senate!
Firstly, I thank you for honouring me with the position of Consul and I will be certain to put it's powers to good use; furthering the just and righteous cause of our noble republic!
As you are no doubt aware, our forces were successful in our campaign against the barbaric heathens on the northern reaches of our borders; a small number lie dead to the savage tactics of the enemy, but for every life sacrificed by our courageous soldiers, many more have been saved here in Roma.
May they be remembered as heroes for their unquestionable loyalty to the republic and may they serve as a reminder of our own duties.
Unfortunately, this hard-fought victory has been tarnished in these very halls, marred by our former Consul who publicly paraded through Roma as though he was responsible for our triumph.
Let it be known that the military will not tolerate any man claiming the glory of victory for his own when it is a victory for the entire empire; I hereby call for punitive repercussions against the Religious faction so that they might learn from their mistake.

I am in agreement with the Consule on this; There is nothing personal in this animosity towards those of celestial inclination, though.
I would also like to distance myself from the episode concerning my fellow colleague Romanic and his attempts at slanderous and unethical methods. I cannot say that I was unaware of the development, but the Senate has my word that I did my utmost to try and talk him out of it - without success, it seems.

This is pretty much how I feel about the religious faction right now.
First we supported you as Consul, and never harmed you. Then, when we were in trouble, you kicked us in the teeth, and stole from us in the night.
What manner of men are these in "priestly" robes? You have betrayed everyone who has called you a friend.
I still have ill feelings about the Populists and their slanderous ways, but their treachery was exposed and they will pay the shame of it. Now, man-God, you shall seek redemption and forgiveness, or seek to find yourself on the streets begging for coin.

Thank you master merchant. I'm glad we've put our differences aside.
Would you believe that just now, the Religious leader offered me a bribe to attack you? I refused immediately. How outrageous!
I believe it from this man.
He's an opportunist. The Mercantile faction was an easy target in the last session, and he happily joined in the pile-on. I am still grumbling about how particularly dishonorable that was, considering how we supported him.
It is one thing to attack one's enemies; it's quite another to attack one's friends when they are in need.

I can understand your furry master merchant.. I can understand it a lot, So I will be honest with you. I am the weakest faction in this game by far and so I have to adjust myself to that. I would have remained loyal to the traders to the end. TO THE END ! , if it wasn't because you had been a gone a terrible lot , and was on the brink of destruction. So I will do as you say ! I shall seek redemption in the eyes of God and in the eyes of my former master![]()
Romanics story about me offering a bribe is ofc nonesense. I would never try to make alliances with people who seems to want my head, So Romanic is lying... but then again that isn't the first time is it slanderous Romanic?? :p

And yet the representative from the merchants fails to add that he actually coerced two members of my own party over to his side with promises of untold wealth, only to then have two of his own have their heads turned by the former Consul's false claims of responsibility for a military victory.
I am not condemning you, Pizza... but please do not label yourself as put-upon when you are as guilty of underhanded tactics as he is.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
