In this Stainless Steel battle we have the Republic of Genoa (me) vs a twcenter forum member JohnGlave as the HRE (Holy Roman Empire). It's a highly popular mod for the original Medieval II game and it provides a more realistic atmosphere. I love how the armor and attack values mimic real historical battles. Armor penetration/damage is greater for crossbows and arbalests than regular archers. Plate armor provides ample protection against peasant archers and two-handed weapons can destroy cavalry in melee engagements.

I play as the attacker (predetermined before the match) and JohnGlave was playing as the defender. He set up at the hill and I reformed my troops accordingly. What we have here in the beginning is a pike wall formation lined up defending his artillery and archers. Later on, my attacks ruin his formation and entice him into breaking up his entire pikemen line. You'll have to watch the videos to understand the details and discover the outcome.

It was an exhausting, stressful, and exciting battle for both parties and we kept up the pressure throughout. Plans were ruined and makeshift changes were paramount to the conclusion.

I'll be creating Battle Report 2 based on the final battle that JohnGlave and I played or another battle once we set up another meeting. It will be uploaded either next week or the following week.

My goal for this series would be to create a new battle report each week or once every two weeks.

Thanks for watching! I hope you enjoyed it and hopefully you will join the Stainless Steel community for Medieval II: Total War - Kingdoms!
