    Default KH Quick Question

    Hi all,

(Possibly a very silly question) In my KH file, if I were to destroy the Level2 Government in Athenai and install a Level1 Agoge will that have any severe ramifications? Or just open up a new avenue of buildings to build?

I know there will be consequences in the form of negative traits to Athenian FMs in the city and I will have to get a Spartan to run it.

N.b. for people who don't play KH often, Athenai starts off with a L2 Gov and Sparta a L1.

Can´t tell exactly, but were the lvl1 gouvernments there for elite troops only? Lvl. 2 should actually provide all the buildings, except some barracks, shouldn´t they?

plus the only troops you will get from level 1 govt was Spartan Hoplites

unless you mod the recruitment, that will be useless and waste your money

and those "big" siege engines plus you need a lvl 1 gov for the (two)highest level gymnasion(s) afaik.

most people(actually everyone but you can never be sure) knows how useless the larger catapults are so even if you build asecond lvl 1 gov(I built one in kydonia) do NOT build that barrack^^
the higher level gymnasion could be usefull but more of an extra build option once the city is "done"

so keep athens democratic, let your governors study at the academy and buy an extra army/fleet somewhere.

No, there are a couple of other cities where you can institute the Agoge, Athens included. However, apart from the high-level barracks required for siege engines and the higher-level gymnasion there's no reason to do so; other than role-playing perhaps.
