My game on Civfanatics could use a few more!: MNOTW XVII: The Cursed Blade!
I thought that was going to happen. Dang it.

Added the names I missed in the tally before and converted atpg back into himself, so csargo is no longer double and self voting :)

What's your theory?
Do you think he is?... if he's innocent as he says, at least.
I think the more pertinent question is "what's your reason for saying that?".
Observe the following quote from the series:
I don't know why you had to say 'anoint', but in the context of this game it was only going to look scummy; you said we should wait and see what happened, and then he's killed... how else was your comment supposed to be interpreted?Originally Posted by The Master, reading from the Writings of Aurelius
I haven't played enough games with dcmort to tell if it is WIFOM or merely townie blundering; my gut says he's innocent, though.Do you think he is?

I haven't seen the show.
Your interpretation is that I killed him? Then why aren't you protesting your own death? Either you believe I just killed you, and aren't acting like it, or you don't believe I did, and are making a case you know is bogus...I don't know why you had to say 'anoint', but in the context of this game it was only going to look scummy; you said we should wait and see what happened, and then he's killed... how else was your comment supposed to be interpreted?

This doesn't make sense though; if you haven't seen the show, where's the basis for making the anoint comment in the first place?
You're still skirting around the reason why you said it!
At what point did I make a case, Sasaki?Your interpretation is that I killed him? Then why aren't you protesting your own death? Either you believe I just killed you, and aren't acting like it, or you don't believe I did, and are making a case you know is bogus...
I asked for an explaination for your comment; I didn't vote for you, I didn't make any accusations or anything else, it was nothing more than a request to hear your side of the story... you reacted as you did.
When I made that "what gives?" post, my interpretation was that you might have killed him somehow; however, shortly after I posted that, someone approached me (as well as at least two others) and claimed that they are Charles Gunn, ACIN's killer last night. The guy's a vampire hunter who's a pretty good shot with a crossbow, aligned with Angel Investigations in the series; they didn't specify the reason behind the kill, but I believe that they targetted ACIN as a result of your anoint comment in-thread.
However, not being the killer doesn't change what you posted, nor the fact that seeing the word 'anoint' will trigger a certain response in anyone that has seen the show or those that at least played autolycus' first Buffy game over at TWC.
The majority of players don't seem to have a clue about the Buffy series, and so it's a comment that would largely stay beneath the radar for most people... however, for someone like me who absolutely loves the show, it looks more than a little off and I don't think anyone in the same boat can refute that fact.
Why should it sound anything like it? What my gut says and what is actually the case may well be two entirely different things; I get the feeling that dcmort is innocent, but I have to be open to the possibility that my instinct is wrong. That wasn't what the comment I quoted sounded like![]()
I'd be doing myself a disservice otherwise.
"Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than Hell itself… that is coffee."
Anoint is a common word
I said that bit for fun and to see what people would say.
I guess I did get him killed though, lol.

Three people approached you over the anoint comment? Who were the other two?
Yeah except in the immediate predecessor to this game, I was Charles Gunn and I attempted to kill every single night.
I don't know where you're head is at in this game, Tincow, but I don't like it.
You might not like the chosen strategy of some vigilantes, but that doesn't mean we should just execute them on a whim. You'll do quite nicely though.

Even if this person (thought they?) had reason to believe that Sasaki had turned ACIN into a vampire?

I don't understand this reasoning at all, Khazaar. There's a decent chance he's just from Sunnydale, but you vote him anyway -- to what purpose? If he claims "the guy who had a crush on Buffy from season two" or some such, you unvote? Where did you plan to go with this?
And Fluffy hasn't respnoded to explain Oh hmm hnn recruitment vote: Zack, either. Did you or did you not find Yaropolk to be suspicious based on what dcmort had to say?
I have no idea who Charles Gunn is, nor do I particularly care in this situation. We clearly have two mafia teams in this game and we have two night kills on N1. Doesn't take a genius to figure this one out.
You're telling me we have a person who actually believes the mafia have to recruit by posting their target publicly in the thread?! LOL.
