Here we go again for the second time!

Out of respect for her and my friend I will use fake names for them. But yeah I got myself a problem and I figure since people are willing to help out here, I could be serious for a moment and ask for advice.

So ever since I came to uni, I met these really two awesome people, this really smart girl "claire" and my now best friend "anthony". I really like this girl, but I didn't want to commit so soon for you know, obvious reasons...blah blah blah. We are all studying the same subject and this is where the problem is. Anthony is quite honestly much more talented than me, and he has a bit more of a popular reputation as well (he comes from a family that is kind of famous in the region). He has a bunch of girls who always try to chill with him which is cool but he doesn't care for any of them. The problem is that I am pretty sure Anthony also likes Claire and is going to ask her out pretty soon. I am also pretty sure she is going to say yes, :(

I would like to ask her out, but I must admit I am not exactly the smoothest around her. We have had a couple of large arguments about stupid ******** that doesn't really matter. So things are not exactly the best between us, she always seems to be interested back though when we don't fight. We have had a couple of cute moments together that I (being an idiot) didn't really capitalize on.

Will update this as it develops. Any advice though?

Yeah, you're going to have to beat Anthony to her in popping the question (i.e. Asking her out for coffee. You do drink coffee, right? RIGHT?!). Chances are that it won't work, but that doesn't matter, because you don't strike me as the kind of guy that is willing to regret liking this girl but not doing anything about it for a year or two. So ask her. It's better being rejected than not knowing what could have happened. Why? Because this way you'll know that it simply wasn't meant to be. The world is like that sometimes, and you might like her now, but if she says no, then that means you are completely free and single to keep looking for a better girl. Trust me, there are better girls out there. Don't trip over this whole issue, and don't make it any bigger than it has to be.

Also, you're in college, and I'm willing to bet a hundred bucks that if you do start dating her, it will only last a few months. Don't get too attached, we don't want your little heart broken. It really hurts.

Ok, here is an update. I am a bit pissed off so don't give me infractions everywhere if I use PG-13 words.

Anthony isn't interested in Claire apparently. I am going to give you guys a small bit of info on my life (this is the only thing I will ever tell you guys about my personal life). I have a sister that is a year younger than me. Anthony wanted to come down and hang out with my family during thanksgiving and winter break, and he is pretty chill so he did. Apparently...he and my sister talked during Thanksgiving and started to get interested in each other. They have been pretty much together for a while, it just wasn't official so to speak. And he came to me today to tell me about this. I got pissed and told him to **** off. I should have seen it coming, after Thanksgiving my sister (who is planning on having the same major as I am) really wanted to go my uni, (she claimed it was because they have a great natural sciences division, which my uni does).

So now, I guess I have a free shot at asking Claire, but right now I am way to **** mad to do anything right now.

Is there something wrong with him dating your sister? I mean, I guess you being his friend know how he talks and acts, but TBH I think you should give your sis some credit. I wouldn't think its a big deal, but if you do I wouldn't blame you for it. I guess everyone kinda handles it differently right?

Anyway...I think it's best if I keep my mouth shut about the girl part, but does she know you like her? Ask her out for some place? In my experience, girls will sometimes find not-being-good-at-things very cute and funny, if you know how to play it right.

Well. I don't think it was "douchy" that he likes your sister, not telling you earlier was probably "douchy". Of what you have said about him he sounds like a decent guy, so isn't that better than some stranger who you don't know anything about going out with your sister?
