Default Italian Regional Government in Sahara??

In my Romani campaign I just conquered Tuat and noticed that I could build a type 1 government there. Is this normal and on purpose or is it a bug or something?

If I recall correctly Tuat is used to place the script markers that won't fit into Terhazza. This would be one of the unintended consequences of that. So yes, it's normal, but you're not suppose to build a type I government there.

Ok thanks! But what is the "proper" government type to build there? Type 3 perhaps, like in Garama?

Tuat is definitely an outlying region for the Romani, and if the script buildings weren't there I'm sure it would be an 'Alliances Available' province, allowing type 3 or 4 governments.

If I conquer a large empire as Romani, I prefer to create my own 'provinces' in far-flung areas for roleplaying purposes, which each have 2-4 regions and one type 4 government in the capitol, (usually the largest and richest city) and type 3 governments everywhere else. Gaul and Illyria/Greece are exceptions, I build type 2 governments wherever possible and send my successful generals to govern them.

But Tuat doesn't have any business being a type 1 or 2 government, as those signify fairly high amounts of central authority, and I doubt the Senate gives a pile of pvblicvs eqvvs feces about Tuat's day to day affaris, so they would appoint a governor who actually cares, either a local or someone they want to banish, but make it seem like a promotion. "Hey, would you like to be a provincial Governor?" "Well, hells yeah! Where at?" "Oh it's like paradise it's warm year-round, there's never a cloudy day, and the women all go topless!" "Sounds wonderful, I'll go right away!"
But when he gets there... it turns out to be a little TOO hot, there's a distinct lack of rainclouds as well as normal clouds, and nobody wants to see saggy weather-beaten numidian boobies. Not to mention the unique and all-pervasive odor of camel dung, baking in 120 degree heat, wafting in your nostrils along with little grains of sand every time the wind blows. Muahahahaha! Senate strikes again!

Seriously though, wouldn't you hate to be the governor of Tuat?

Thanks for the amusing reply! Seems like a cool way to roleplay. But regarding Tuat, I guess I'll just make it a type 3 government, since I still try to build the best government type possible, Tuat being an obvious exception.

There sort of is the issue that my Aunt lives not too far from where the 'Tuat' EB town is located. But hey, amusing reply even if you have managed to insult the hell out of it.
