    Default Battlefield 3

Is available for preorder on Amazon. I am surprised that there has not been a thread on this already... Anyone got any info on it?

lol, I really couldn't give a taff about box art though :P, I just want to know if the game will be any good. lol (You are right though, it does look nice...but a little overused...) Judging by their recent releases, my guess is that this will be another disappointment...

As long as it follows BF2/BF2142 it will be good. I'm fairly sure they're taking the proper approach to it, none of this Bad Company crap.

    What?

Bad Company is actually pretty good and BF3 uses the FrostByte 2 engine if I'm not mistaken, that's the one Bad Company 2 uses.

    Bad Company is not battlefield.

I used to be pretty confused about it too never having played the games.

Bad Company games, I think, follow the storyline and focus on single player, but also include multiplayer.
Other Battlefield games are just multiplayer games with loads of vehicles, from tanks to jets...

Single player is a bit short, its more MP focused than you think.
But yeah, it lacked the charm of previous BF games.
For one thing, the fact how almost every sniper could call down a mortar strike made me wish the commander position was there. The ability to call down mortars should be either a squad-leader only capability or a commander ability (if the position was there).

The awesome part about Bad Company is that there is constant action, explosions and things being destroyed which can give the impression to be in a huge battle when it's actually a small one.
And I'm talking about the multiplayer.

It may not be part of the original Battlefield series but it's a branch of the Battlefield series and quite nice on it's own.

Bad Company has a Story ( I mean, following a "Just One Guy with one story" unlike the no-campaign modes you play in BF2)
    by the way,
Bad Company's Multiplayer is, I can't say anymore but Monumental, especially the Vietnam one (well, just the same level as the Normal one). can't wait to play Battlefield 2 with a 3.

The singleplayer is going to be shamefully forgettable. The multiplayer is where it will live or die (probably the former).

Cool thing about the BC games is that you buy it for the unmatched multiplayer, yet you also get a very solid single player, better than a lot of shooters where the campaign is the main selling point

BC2's singleplayer was boring. This looks better, though.

But honestly I only care about multiplayer. These are cool trailers but I want video confirmation that 64 players, jets, and non-crap choppers are back.

The games wouldn't sell less copies if there wasn't a single player at all, so it's quite a nice bonus they put a lot of effort in, I can forgive them that they aren't among the top developers in the single player department, Battlefield IS the multiplayer, period, but I really appreciate the effort. You sure get your money's worth even if you buy it for the full price.

They wouldn't sell copies *at that price* without singleplayer.

EA is at it again with pre-order bonuses. Someday it might seriously blow up in their faces, but think that is years off.

E3 vids have been spectacular, definitely looking even more forward to this, if I can say like that.

    Ja Mata, Tosa.

The poorest man may in his cottage bid defiance to all the forces of the Crown. It may be frail; its roof may shake; the wind may blow through it; the storm may enter; the rain may enter; but the King of England cannot enter – all his force dares not cross the threshold of the ruined tenement! - William Pitt the Elder

    Blasphemy!

BC2's singleplayer was solid! Didn't take itself serious, humorous and over the top action! Don't know what you like in a SP, hope it's not the CoD: MW2, Black ops BS.

That said, I hope my PC can take this one ...
