    Default Tea or Coffee?

    Well?

For me, it's tea. Coffee just tastes bad. I had my first cup around age 12 and couldn't finish it. Waited a decade till my second cup and couldn't finish that either. I know adding milk, sugar, cream, small floating marshmallows, etc., could make it taste better. But I always figured; why spend time adding a bunch of stuff to mask the unpleasant base taste instead of just drinking something else?

I tried tea in college and enjoyed the milder taste. And so now when I need caffeine I just get tea.

My favorites are earl grey tea and chamomile, though I like English black tea and peppermint tea as well. I tired green tea and some other tea based on flowers and couldn't finish either of them.

    So, what do Orgahs prefer?

Depends on the weather and whats available. I avoid army coffee at all costs, but do like gourmet and ice coffees. Tea is always good, although for a caffiene kick I will usually opt for a cold diet pepsi.

Coffee for me. I don’t know why but tea just leaves me flat. About the only way I ever drink it is iced with lemon, sort of brown lemonade.

Army Coffee is a whole different beast. Unless they have gone hi-tec the stuff was puke.

    Recipe: Army Field Coffee
Dump 3 lb. of coffee grounds into 5 gal of water and boil, sprinkle with salt and egg shells to make the grounds sink. Serve luke warm.

I swear I have seen them use coffee canned in 1943, so... that stuff.

Maybe you need a holiday. Go visit Canada or Alaska or come here, I’ll put you up for a few days. You may learn to enjoy warm drinks.

I enjoy both. Dark coffee (espresso strength) w/cream ans sugar, or black with sugar. Black tea with cream, cream and sugar, just sugar, honey, or honey and lemon--depending on the type of tea. Green tea always straight up, preferably sencha or genmaicha. Love chai tea too. Toga loves wondrous variety.

I drink both. As for brands, I really couldn't care less. Instant coffee does the trick and any handy tea bag's fine by me. I used to prefer the former, though I've since discovered the joy of really bloody strong tea without too much sugar in it. Currently If I'm making a brew for myself and others, I'll put their bags in my mug and leave it to stew for a bit. Much better than the sweet, milky gnats' whizz I grew up drinking.

If this was asked last year I would jump "tea" blindfolded. But tastes do change.

I've happened to be drinking tea only when at home late at night. Out, I'm going for green tea and other herbal/fruit teas.

Coffee has become essential 'coz I can't complete the waking up process before having one at 8 in the morning. I used to favour Turkish coffee over all sorts but nowamonths filter coffee is at the top of the list. No matter how, my coffee is black, so is my tea unless it's green.

I like both. Coffee in the morning to kick start my day. Tea in the afternoon & evening *with cookie* to sooth the savage beast within. Don't know why, but the caffeine kick in coffee disrupts my sleep at night if drunk after noon-time. Tea doesn't have that affect on me.

I usually don't drink both, coffee at work, either black, with sugar, milk, as Cappuccino, etc.
Tea, I drink very rarely, usually when I'm really sick.

Which reminds me I have a coffee machine at home, but I rarely use it.

Every morning starts with a big mug of tea. Followed by as much coffee as I can drink during the day wihout freaking out, and then more tea at night.

I got a killer espresso machine for Christmas, so I'm nuking myself pretty heavy these days. Strong, black coffee, bordering on Turkish. Ahhhhhhh.

I am English and therefore a tea drinker.

However, since moving to Melbourne where the coffee is truly the finest to be had anywhere on this Earth I have also learned to enjoy the product of the bean.

I'm an equal opportunity guy so I drink both.

As I refuse to put anything black to my lips, I use plenty of milk in my coffee, and just a spot of it in my tea.

Can't beat a mug of Tetley tea!

    Don't mind coffee either.

I've been drinking tea for as long as I can remember. Used to have a fair bit of milk and sugar, now the thought of that makes me sick, only a spot of milk please...

    Mouzaf,

What kind of coffee do you use for your Turkish coffee, and how big\small a cup?

We can get a killer Kenya AA black a few towns over. I might grab some today and try that.

I may be wrong, but I believe "turkish coffee" refers to the method it's prepared and served and not a special variety of coffee.

I think you're right. But some types of coffee must be better, or more "classical", for a proper Turkish coffee.

Not a big fan of tea, but I can enjoy it on occasions; goes best with cookies. Love turkish apple tea.

Nothing beats coffee+chocolate though; that's a match made in heaven

Isn't latte just milk and Macchiato the short form of Latte Macchiato?

On that note, is it correct that Latte Macchiato is Espresso with milk and Cappuccino is Coffee with milk or what is the difference exactly?
And what differentiates a so-called milk-coffee from those two? I ask because we serve all three at work but I never really got the difference, the machine has "Espresso beans", Coffee beans and milk to mix them together.
