So PC Gamer gave STW2 92% and an editor's choice, which would be very cool, but doesn't their scale start at 90? I keed, I keed.

We’ve played and reviewed Shogun 2 and awarded the game a score of 92 and an Editor’s Choice award. The review appears in the latest issue of PC Gamer UK, on-sale February 16, and the May issue of PC Gamer US, on-sale March 29.

Why did it get that score and the Editor’s Choice award? Try improved AI that attacks from the sea and uses terrain to its advantage, an online clan system with excellent matchmaking that encourages teamworks between allies, and the artful realisation of the Sengoku period. We say that “Shogun 2 is the Total War series back on form,” and that it “boasts the most outrageous hats in martial history.

A review already? They've got to be reviewing a beta version at this point.

Their scale starts at about 80-85 actually. No pet bites the hand that feeds it.

Got to wait for the game proper - most of us will judge it from very different perspectives and criteria anyway.

This article seemed to me as more of an advertisement to get people to sign up for the PC Gamer mag, rather than a review and score. I will have it day 1 anyway, regardles of opinions or scores.

Yes, I believe the ETW score was very high.

Gamer mags+honest reviews = oxymoron. Perhaps its hard to be all that objective when the editor tells you your review will appear right after the two page color spread bought by Sega. Oh, and they purchased the back cover too!

I too am waiting for the game.
