Well?
Well?
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
What happens when you turn of a computer?
What happens when an elephant die?
Few are born with it, even fewer know what to do with it.

Nothing that will concern you.
Where's the "My small human mind cannot possibly comprehend such a question." option?
I like to believe that when we die we go to a place similar to this one. Except everythings more expensive, the problems are worse, and all the people are's.
That depends on where consciousness resides, doesn‘t it?
Quantum physics and quantum theory is giving us reasons to reexamine some of our assumtions.
There is no empirical data to back the assumption that consciousness stops at death.
We have some anecdotal testimony that it may continue and even some for reincarnation.
So this is more of a poll on your beliefs and faith.
Have fun!

There were some spelling mistakes there. I am sure people understand what I meant though, so an attack on my language skills seem rather unwarranted.
Not to mention rude. But then you do come off as lacking in normal manners quite frequently. Having a bad day? Nerd rage building up in you with no place to vent?
Few are born with it, even fewer know what to do with it.

You are, of course, referring to our consciousness, yes? In that case, nothing. We simply cease to exist, with no thought.
I'd like to think that there is something after this hell, but if what awaits me is more hell, then I'd rather not think about it.

Heaven and hell are here.
To think that 'nothing' happens when you die is infinitely selfish.
I think it's pointless to think about whether or not there's an afterlife. Que sera, sera. Nothing you can change about it anyway. The only certainty is that one day, I will die![]()
I don't really like the idea, but there's nothing I can do to change it.

Calvin: Hobbes, what do you think happens to us when we die?
Hobbes: I think we play saxophone for an all-girl cabaret in New Orleans.
Calvin: So you believe in heaven?
Hobbes: Call it what you like.
Seriously now....when you die the biologic support for your consciousness stops working.....so that's it....no real need to worry about what happens next....that's nothing that will concern you.

When you die you must befriend ten year old psychic boys who see dead people.
Something does happen after you die, your body decomposes. As for consciousness, not sure, doubt it really matters either way.
This assumes that our conciousness resides in our physical bodies as a matter of necessity. You could look at it another way, our concoiusness resides in our physical bodies as a means of controling said body, but it is not constrained there. To look at it another way, the brain is the ship's wheel, not the soul's vessel.
