Default question reg. recruitment viewer: what is the meaning of the complex numbers?

in order to find out which buildings i need to train special troops i tried the recruitment viewer - but dont understand these numbers. e.g. to find out in advance which goverment and which MIC i need for training of rhodian slingers i tried to select menu/view/unit details then the window looks promising: for all factions one need a level 3 MIC - but which one? the one for factional troops or for foreign natives?
e.g. for Makedonia under MIC there is the number 11.
for KH there the number 9.?
much obliged for hints - Kleitos

With Makedonia, MIC 11 is your factional roster, MIC 25 is regional.
So, in Rhodos, you'll need a level 3 factional barrack (complex 11).

For every faction, complex 25 and 26 are for regional troops.
Makedonia is complex 11, KH and Epeiros share complex 9; they can't (exactly) recruit the same troops but they share the same buildings and KH can recruit from an epirote city.
SPQR has two factional MIC; 1 and 2, used to shape up the reforms. The two gallic factions use MIC 5 and 6.

thanks very much Poulp' - that helps :-) .. so the smaller number always is the same as for native troops? - and the bigger for the regional ones? ..unless there are some reforms available for the specific faction? ..i played already the Phalavans but didnt try to use the viewer then ...when i look now they even have 5 different MIC numbers: 23, 32, 30, 3 and 31.

You don't actually need to decode the MIC numbers - here's to figure out what you can build using the recruitment viewer:
    1. Click the province, so at the bottom of the screen it says "Province Selected: Syria" (or whatever)
    2. Choose your faction using the left drop-down
    3. Choose either native (factional) or regional MIC using the right drop-down
    4. Go to the View menu, and select "Province Details". This shows you all the troop types your faction can build using that MIC type in that city.
    5. In the province data window, check the "Detailed Info" checkbox. This adds the MIC level required for every troop type.

oh - yes - i got it now ..really a useful tool. thanks

also without using the viewer until now i only expected with each faction the units as listed at the www.europabarbarorum.com/factions.html site - but the lists there are not as detailed as with the rec. viewer.

Even the recruitment viewer is a little out of date. The most accurate source of troop information for EB 1.2 is http://europabarbarorum.heimstatt.net/, which lets you filter to troops that your faction can recruit, and then shows recruitment maps for them.

oh yes, this site i knew already - but missed the data which MIC line and level are required for specific factions.. but however i overlooked the function of the small map button to get the province data for them.
together with the recruitment viewer this all is very useful.
