i'm not saying this happens often just that it has happened before. its more humorous than anything else. like noe of my friends and i got into an argument with another guy (large, fat, stereotypical douche) and he saw fit to start cursing and carrying on etc. our friend walks over big strong guy and by the end hes trying to appease my larger friend while still giving us crap. people prey on who they perceive as weak. they associate glasses with weakness just as shortness equates weakness (even though my friend is on the school football team as a running back....)

so you see what i mean.

and viking in the fog of confusion alcohol creates people aren't always able to show themselves as large and powerful to intoxicated asses even if they are.

As for the topic in general; the world described in the OP is not one that I recognise.
alot of college FRESHMEN bars are like this, at least i thought so.
