I've worn glasses and contacts at various points in my life but have never been accosted because of them. Ok ... maybe in grade school, I was teased sometimes ("Four-eyes!" etc.), but it never got to me. Just kids being kids.
When in my prime and into such things, I enjoyed a few accessories. They included:
- A variety of Revo and Oakley sunglasses (still have my Oakleys that are exactly like Hoot's in Black Hawk Down)
- An Omega Seamaster watch, 18K, stainless, and crystal (still have it but it needs some work)
- A gunmetal gray Zero-Halliburton aluminum briefcase with the advanced locking mechanism (still have it; holds my pistolas)
- A subtle and understated Hawaiian engagement ring (no strings, just a cool understated style; long lost)
- Black, short, skin-tight deerskin cop gloves (need to replace my current ones which are worn out)
- Black, rather plain but elegantly understated, hand-made, leather-soled Lucchese "cowboy" boots
- My trusty and warm Nino Cerruti double-breasted top coat for more formal affairs in cold weather
- My trusty black leather jackets, varying in styles over the years, but usually understated and on the "traditional" side of style
Nowadays I just prefer a t-shirt, jeans, black boots, black belt and either a sport jacket or leather bomber, depending on the scenario. Done with the bling thing.
