    Default A prodigal son returns?

It has been some time since I frequented these halls, so long that most of you joined after I had departed. Just the same, I see many old names, which bring back old memories...good memories of another time. I look forward to "speaking" with many of you again, rebuilding old friendships...and to meeting the many of you who have come to fill these halls - more than making up for the many of us who had come and gone.

Many times I have thought of rejoining your ranks, many times I was drawn away from doing so by this or by that. I hope this time I may be able to stay with you, but even if the time is short (for we never know what life will throw at us), I plan to make the most of the time that I do have.

The ORG is a very special place, and even when I was away I thought often of it. It is not just about a video game (albeit an excellent one). It is a broad community, made up of people from a diverse range of countries, cultures and ideologies. It is a community of people who are (mostly) of high intelligence; open minded; aware of history, geopolitics and events around the world; and who look for meanings and significance of those events. The exchange of ideas here was always rich, and one that was intellectually stimulating and challenging. From what I have seen, in the last few days, little has changed.

I look forward to seeing many of you in the Front & Back rooms of the tavern.

So, let us raise a virtual glass to the ORG, and its members - past present and future. In particular, I want to thank TosaInu whose dedication is nothing below astounding (and who helped me re-establish my account), as well as all of the moderators who make the org what it is.

    Cheers to all,

    Jaguara

P.S. - Perhaps some of you are people I knew, who now have different account names. If so, I would appreciate a private message to let me know who you were so that we may get reaquanited.

Although I wasn't around when you were, I want to say that you've named all the reasons why I love the ORG as well. Welcome back.

Welcome back, old timer. Try not to get too wrapped around the axle with these Johnnie-Come-Latelys, some of them are good kids.

Yeah, the Org is a great, open, multicultural and multinational community full of intelligent and liberal individuals. It's almost as good as Canada.

Makes one wonder if one is the consequence of the other.
Needles to say my impressions are the same.
I joined the org when RTW just came out (never knew Shogun existed till then), maybe this game attracts those people with the qualities listed above.
But no doubt the org has a huge educational impact on any youngster willingly enough.

The name looks familiar... I could just be thinking of left winger spammer jag though...

Now I am hurt. I was wondering when you would show up...but I thought you would remember me. I am not the infamous "Jag"...I was Mod of O/T for quite a while...including when you joined...and you and I had quite a few discussions (only one in an official capacity - where I had to play mediator for you).

Anyway, I remembered you, and am glad to see you again just the same.

When I saw you mention moderator in another topic it clicked into place, to be honest I did think of you, but I half wondered if you were yet another Jag (a third one)

Don't be too offended, if anything I remember you more than most people from real life! I constantly have people saying hi and I am stuck for who the hell they are and where I know them from!

I don't now if it was some kind of questionaire... maybe it was a what kind of mod are you... but the phrase 'eagle eye scout' is coming to mind. That probably means nothing to you though....

Out of interest what was the problem.... It wasn't something between me and that Scottish guy around my age whose dad was in the military... ScottishKnight it might have been...

I wan't truly offended. I also remember people here better than in real life as well. I joined facebook at the request of my children, and I have people who I supposedly went to school with wanting to add me all the time...people I have absolutely no recollection of...or I will remember the name but have no idea what relationship I had with them.

"Eagle Eye Scout" must have been some private thought or impression of yours, it does not ring a bell.

As to the situation, I only have a vague recollection, but it was just a heated debate, someone (I don't even remember who) took offence and complained to another moderator. I felt it was mostly a misunderstanding and mediated the situation through PMs. In the end no sanctions were placed and everybody walked away as friends. So nothing to be ashamed of...Sorry, I shouldn't have mentioned it publicly like this.

Anyway, I am glad things clicked...it has been so long I wasn't sure anyone would remember me at all.
