Battle of Tsu - 1581
A prelude to a more deadly conflict that I'm currently engaged in. The Hatakeyama clan launched an insurection against the Hojo Shogunate and were joined by the Date clan. After months of fighting the bulk of the rebels were destroyed at the battles of Tsu and Iwate. Unfortunately, with the entirety of eastern Japan now firmly united beneath a centralized, Hojo Shogunate, the Oda and Mori clans, controling all of the west have revolted against the Shogunate. The realm is once more divided.
I do love how, after you've claimed the Shogunate, your faction literally gets renamed as such. Its such a small thing, but for players like me who love to immerse in the atmosphere it completely changes the flavor of a campaign.

These are pretty spectacular. Not mine, of course.
What are your archers doing? Forget those morons standing over there, someone get the daimyo some lunch!

Battle of Koriyama - 1587
Kasahara Kanesue in command of Shogunate forces numbering at 1800 men attacks the Mori encampments in Eastern Honshu, facing an enemy force three times his size... and wins. Some men become dragons, rather than slay them.
Dead are everywhere in the shadows beneath the leaves as the guns of the Shogunate thunder in the distance.
This battle broke the power of the Mori clan in Honshu. Over seven thousand from both sides were lost at the end of the fight.

Christianity, Ikkiism, taxes, war... family died and nuclear bombs all at the same time. Tbh, I have no idea. I think I lost a bonus to happiness and forgot to reset my taxes.
Sp4..
Wow I have made some serious political and economic blunders in Shogun 2 but have never seen more than a couple of provinces at a time getting unhappy..
Might be unique to the co-op mode..what was your partner up to, lol..Might have been internal sabotage!, ;-)
Oh the AI <3
But yeah as I said. What happened was that I had a pretty serious bonus to happiness and repression and what not and then a lot of stuff happened at the same time, like the bonus going away, something else to have a negative effect all over the country and I think I lost my last family member in a battle a turn earlier, which has a penalty on happiness as well and then I just forgot to set the taxes to a normal level again after 4 turns of very high.
I just finished a Chosokabe campaign recently. Here are two pictures I took toward the end of the campaign.
Here lay some enemy garrison of the Hojo and three of my assauting ashigaru units. Backlit with a burning gate house the ill fated ashigaru entered thru.
Here is a castle defense of mine. A unit of ashigaru was holding off two units of Katana Calvary. They were doing ok until one unit dismounted and finished off the remaining ashigaru.
