Turn 33, year 1553, spring..

My Metsuke is a master of survival it seems.




"heaven and Earth" is now mastered.




Izu rebels.




Next art to master is "Strategy of Attack"





As I thought, Ise is poorly defended.




But that does not matter, since the Hatorri army is now at my doorsteps.




In an attempt to save Takayama and his army, I must go through Suruga and its garrison.




Nubuyuki heads once again to Suruga, but this time around, he is ambushed!




I fear he will not survive the battle.

I notice right away that I am right next to a hill, on the other side of which are the enemy troops




I will run for the hill!

The Hojo make it up that thing first!






My samurai stay behind as a rear guard, in hopes to hold them back just long enough for the rest of the army to secure the hill top!




The battle begins!






Bomb throwers are terrifying!




the enemy samurai begin to retreat




What is left of my rear guard fight on honorably!




I can now afford to split my Ashigaru and concentrate on the other half of the enemy army!




The Hojo do not hesitate to kill their comrades




Sword samurai are really a fearsome force!




All that is left of the enemy are the archers!




but not for long!

Victory is mine. But a costly, very costly one.




Nobuyuki retreats back over the border to lick his wounds, and Takayama is once again on his own.




It is only a matter of time before he falls at this rate. Better to die to enemy soldiers then to starvation and disease!
