this still young and inexperienced lad want to hear their share of experience in having a common but still much mysterious things called marriage....

and almost forget, how long did you have a relationship with your spouse before marriage?

Got married at 25. Had been with my wife for over 3.5 years prior to marriage.

Married at 27 in July '99.
Became lovers in Feb '99.
She was the little sister of an old friend.
Happily married in the 12th year.

Met my wife in September 1999. Married her in September 2006. I was 28 then. Still happily married and in the meanwhile two became three.

ugh, I envy you... my religious mentor snatch my girl when I try to propose her, I know, screw the traditions and propose over email should be better... if I know that 3 years ago...

Hehe, I'm afraid I'm lying by omission. At my university, which is divided into colleges of about 100-400 students, each new student has a college mum and dad. At some point during the previous year, first year students in the same subject "marry" each other, and get allocated some successful applicants as their college children. It's the "parents'" responsibility to make sure that the kids feel at home when they arrive at my uni, as it's nice having someone you can go to who is both required and wants to help their kids to settle in. We write them a letter, help them get used to the work, buy them drinks during Fresher's Week etc. Of course, some subjects, such as physics or languages, there is a rather severe gender imbalance, so there are a lot of "civil partnerships". I married one of my female peers though, so we're a typical marriage.
