How old are you when you are married?

Married when I was 30 - at that point wehad been a couiple for >5 years and shared a flat for 3 years.

10 year anniversary coming up in September...

Married at 23, we'd known eachother for a year and a half or so (and engaged for a year of that time), but spent much of that time in separate sides of the country, and some of it in separate sides of the globe.

I married at age 24. Had known my wife for about four years, dating for about two years prior to the marriage. Our 27th wedding anniversary is coming up in June.

obviously i think one should wait until after they are done with university (if going is their calling) and spend a few years with their significant other making sure thats what you want. also try to get married relatively young for your wifes sake and for the sake of your future children because after about 30 for a woman it gets much more difficult.

i said 30 to 32.

obviously i have no idea what im talking about besides my own parents who married at 38 and 29 (basically 30). However, i think this is very late especially for my father. however, its been almost 20 years for them so rock on.

in the end you know when you want to get married no one else you just have to be smart about it.

My advice (to North Americans at least), don't get married before 24 and don't marry a girl who is not 24. Notice a lot of these marriages happening in their late 20s & 30s are hitting 10 year anniversaries...young marriages do not have the same success rate. To keep it simple, let me just say that people go through a lot of changes in their early 20s.

My first marriage was at 21, lasted 5 years mostly for religious reasons. Second "marriage" (we have not married), was started in my late 20s and 10 years later is still going strong (except when I play too much TW).

Too late on both counts in my case. Although it's funny you mentioned age 24 in particular. Right before I got married I read something that put the optimum age range starting at around 23-24 and ending at 27 or so. Both before and after those ages average length of marriage began dropping off.

Cute Wolf is 22, and he allready had girlfriend for more than a year. I think he really consider to marry this year, before he go to his overseas study (so he'll get the benefit of family supports on scholarship, which was pretty big compared with single one)

But I'd suggest to reconsider this, there is a lot of pretty girl there in Europe, you'll regret if you settle your choice to soon

Met Mrs. Apache MK I in May '75. Married her in '84. Divorced in '89.

Met Mrs. Apache MK II in March '89, married in Nov '89, approaching our 22nd year together.

I voted on the thought of when I'd like to get married, but that also depends on how long you've been in a relationship with someone and whether or not you could feel yourself being together indefinitely - age is more of a result of the criteria rather than the criterion itself.
