    Default Naval Zapping

I've never tried naval transportation in S2TW.

Is it MTW-esque; placing ships along adjacent naval territories grants you passage from one end to another ?

or classic RTS-esque; you load/unload troops to/from ships, ships actually carrying troops on board ?

The latter one, naval provinces were scrapped a long time ago. So that you can sink ships carrying troops, but those troops don't take part in naval battles (aside from possible general who in S2TW, when loaded to a ship, becomes admiral as there are no separate admirals.

So in S2TW to transport troops over long distances in short amount of time you need to take advantage of a semi-cheat where you load troops to a ship, go to max distance where there is another ship waiting and merge, then remove the ship with no movement left. Troops are left in the ship that was waiting with maximum movement.
This strategy is considered gamey by some, but it leaves troops you're transporting very vulnerable to Wako Pirates and any enemies you might have.
